OROVILLE, Calif. โ The Sacramento man who opened fire on a Greyhound bus in Oroville in 2022, killing one and injuring four others, was found guilty in Butte County Court on Wednesday, according to Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey.

Whitley was sitting near Farber on the bus. She was 25 weeks pregnant the night of the shooting and gave birth to her baby just 22 days later. Inside the courtroom, Coleman was shifting back and forth and writing notes, as he did last week. But there were also times he seemed visibly agitated, mumbling to his attorney, even shaking his head during some testimony. Over 1,000 African 'migrants' swarm NYCโs City Hall over supposed falsely promised green cards
About 1,300 African migrants gathered outside City Hall Tuesday morning hoping to appear at a hearing on the black experience in the city shelter system โ with some saying they were promised work visas or green cards if they showed.
Only 250 people were allowed inside for the 10 a.m. hearing, while the hundreds of others who flocked downtown were left outside in a park, where footage showed them chanting and cheering.
The crowd was mostly made up of new arrivals from Guinea, in West Africa, and were apparently drawn to City Hall by an activist group, a source told The Post. Dozens of migrants said theyโd been told by others in the community that they could get work visas or green cards if they showed up. โThey told me that they would help me to get a work permit and a green card if I came here today,โ Amadou Sara Bah, 44, who got to the US in November from Guinea, explained, adding he wouldnโt have come to City Hall just for the hearing. Bah said he was stressed about waiting for a work permit, which he applied for in March, noting it could take about five months to come through and he does not have a lawyer to speed up the process. By 12:30 p.m., he and his friends were still sitting on a bench near City Hall, but no one had offered to help them. โThere are many people here and we donโt know how to get the help they told us would be here,โ he told The Post. โI came here for a green card. The attack happened on Saturday at around 10:30 p.m. on 119th Street and Wilmington Avenue, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department investigators.

Sydney rocked by second stabbing in days as bishop and worshippers targeted at church
New South Wales Police arrested a man after being called to the report of a stabbing at Christ The Good Shepherd Church in Wakeley, west Sydney Four people, including a bishop, were injured in a stabbing inside a church in Sydney in the second major knife incident to hit the Australian city in a matter of days. The incident happened at Christ The Good Shepherd Church in Wakeley at around 7.15pm local time (9.15am GMT). Footage from the incident, broadcast live on the churchโs YouTube page, appeared to show the church leader stabbed repeatedly by a man who approach the altar before worshippers rushed forward to come to his aid. A cowardly brute is facing assault charges after police said he slugged a 9-year-old girl at Grand Central Terminal in an unprovoked attack on Saturday.
Zarzuela is accused of approaching the little girl, a Bronx resident, around 11:50 a.m. inside the historic terminal and punching her without warning, cops said. The girl was left dizzy and in pain and was taken to NYU Langone-Tisch Hospital, sources said. Zarzuela, who initially fled the scene, is already facing assault charges for allegedly punching an elderly woman in the head on April 4, according to court records. He was arraigned on assault, reckless endangerment and harassment charges in that case โ but released without bail by Manhattan Judge Laurie Peterson, records show. He was still on the streets when he punched the girl at Grand Central and was back in custody on Sunday. The Manhattan District Attorneyโs Office said Sunday that Zarzuela was awaiting arraignment. TARBORO, N.C. (WNCN) โ A Rocky Mount Bloods gang member was found guilty of murder by an Edgecombe County jury on Thursday.
The case stemmed from a deadly shooting that happened in February 2021 on Branch Street in Rocky Mount. The victim, 27-year-old Markelius Leon Chambers, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
During the investigation, witnesses told police that โRell killed Kell.โ Rell was identified as 33-year-old The trial began last Monday at the Edgecombe County Courthouse in Tarboro. PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A person of interest is in custody after police say a woman? stabbed two people in Philadelphia on Saturday, including a 1-year-old.
The first stabbing took place at approximately 8 a.m. on the 1300 block of Chancellor Street in Center City. Investigators say the suspect, who they believe is 29-year-old "This offender just runs up, quick stab, runs," noted Philadelphia Police Captain Frank Banford. The victim was transported to Jefferson University Hospital, where she was treated and later released. The second stabbing happened just after 12:30 p.m. on the 300 block of South 18th Street outside Temple Beth Zion-Beth Israel (BZBI) synagogue. Police say the suspect ran up to two parents and their twin 1-year-old boys, who were in strollers. "It looked like this female just rushed up to them, nothing was said, completely random, tried to stab both children but got one child in each arm," said Banford. The children's father chased after the suspect, who dropped her handbag but was able to flee the scene, according to police. That handbag is now being used in the investigation. "I heard a guy shouting, 'Oh my God! Oh my God!'" recalled Ashley Jeong from Center City. "The baby was crying." The 1-year-old was taken to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and is listed in stable condition. |

Video that ABC13 aired on Jan. 12 showed the suspect, wearing a yellow cap, without a care in the world inside a store on Aldine Bender. He was dancing while holding cash. A half-hour later, the video showed him with a group of men outside the store at the driver's side of Houston's car. A third video showed the suspect again, hiding in the shadows at the gate of Haverstock Hills apartments before emerging while opening fire. |

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell announced Friday that 38-year-old Ruinard, from Chandler, originally was arrested in the case last July and charged with first-degree murder and other counts. โExperienced homicide prosecutors in my office combed through nearly 4,000 pages of material submitted in this homicide case,โ Mitchell said in a statement. โAfter five months of careful review, we were able to secure this indictment.โ A message sent to Ruinardโs public defender seeking comment on the case wasnโt immediately returned Sunday. Authorities said the body of Parker League was found in June at the bottom of a bonfire in the Tonto National Forest just northeast of the Phoenix metro area, and dental records identified the victim. Leagueโs family said he had just graduated from high school in Gretna, Nebraska, and took a June 9 flight to Arizona to visit friends for a few days. Authorities said surveillance footage showed League and Ruinard leaving a gas station together on June 11. That was the last time League was seen on video alive. Leagueโs body was found the following day and authorities said his blood was later discovered in the trunk and on the rear bumper of a vehicle seized from Ruinardโs property. Sheriffโs investigators used surveillance video from multiple locations where Leagueโs credit and debit cards were used to identify Ruinard as a suspect. Ruinard, a former Tucson restaurant owner, told investigators that League sold him debit cards for $500 and he threw them away after using them, according to court documents. But records also show that Ruinard admitted to using cocaine and marijuana before meeting League and that may have blurred his memory. On Wednesday, April 3, at 11:14 p.m., officers from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office, working with the Westmoreland County Sheriff's Office, discovered a body in the 300 block of Welford's Wharf Road in Richmond County. Authorities said the body found during the investigation matched the description of Kearrah Chappell, a 21-year-old woman who was reported missing by the Westmoreland County Sheriff's Office on Monday, April 1. The suspect in the murder of a New Mexico State Police officer had been driving a car belonging to a South Carolina woman who was later found dead, police said Saturday.
Jaremy Smith of Marion County, South Carolina, remains at large, according to police. Smith has an "extensive" criminal history dating back decades in his home state and has ties to the Albuquerque area, New Mexico State Police Chief Troy Weisler said at a Saturday press conference. When the trooper was murdered, Smith was driving a car belonging to Phonesia Machado-Fore, a missing South Carolina first responder. Machado-Fore was found dead outside of Lake View in Dillon County on Friday after she had been reported missing by family, according to the Marion County Sheriffโs Office. An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday. Warrants have been issued for Smith in the murder of New Mexico State officer Justin Hare. Hare was fatally shot after responding to a call early Friday on Interstate 40, according to Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. Hare was killed after he was dispatched to help a person with a flat tire on Friday, according to police. At around 5 a.m., Hare was dispatched to help a motorist in a white BMW who had a flat tire and had been attempting to wave down other motorists. At the scene, the suspect approached Hare's passenger side window and they had a short conversation about repairing his tire and possibly getting a ride back to town when the suspect -- without warning -- pulled out a firearm and shot Hare, Weisler said during a press conference Saturday. The suspect then walked to the driver side of the car and shot Hare again. Smith then pushed Hare into the passenger seat and drove the patrol car away, with Hare still in the vehicle, according to Weisler. When Hare did not return several attempts to contact him, an officer was sent to the scene. When the officer responded, he saw Hare's patrol car driving at a high speed on a fringe road which runs alongside the interstate. Hare also set off a distress signal, sending an emergency signal to dispatch, Weisler said. Hare was later found on the fringe road around mile post 312. He was transported to a hospital where he died, Weisler said. The link was made between Hare's murder and the missing first responder when New Mexico State Police called the Marion County Sheriff's Office on Friday to inform them that Machado-Fore's car was involved in the murder of one of their officers. Federal, state and local authorities worked together to identify the driver and locate Machado-Fore, ultimately finding her body in the course of their investigation. The manhunt for Smith continues, with police calling on the public with any knowledge about his whereabouts to step forward. "Jaremy Smith, we are coming for you. I implore you to turn yourself in and surrender peacefully," Weisler said. Police said Smith should not be approached and is considered armed and dangerous. A 17-year-old has been jailed for life for murdering his stepmother after he became "obsessed" with watching extreme violence online.
Rueben Brathwaite used an axe and a samurai sword to kill dog rescuer Fiona Scourfield, 54, at their countryside farm before trying to upload pictures of her body to the internet. Fiona Scourfield was found dead at her home in St Clears in Carmarthenshire in March. Swansea Crown Court heard on Friday how the teenager developed an interest in videos of beheading, suicide, and mass murder on "imageboard" website 4chan in the run up to the "horrific" murder. A court heard Brathwaite immediately made a 999 call to confess to the killing, telling an operator he had become "fed up" with his life. Prosecutor Paul Hipkin said the teen had lived with his landscape gardener father, Charles Brathwaite, and his stepmother at their log cabin on Broodmoor Farm in St Clears, Carmarthenshire, West Wales, where he began accessing images and videos of "brutal" violence online. Mr Hipkin said: "In the lead up he accessed images of killings of some brutality on the internet via a website in the USA. "The images demonstrated murder, death and mutilation." |

KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) โ A grand jury has indicted a man charged with murder in Kanawha County who was arrested out of state.
According to Kanawha County court records, 24-year-old Tavian was charged with first-degree murder and using or displaying a firearm during the commission of a felony. He is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26. Man wanted in Tennessee arrested for murder in South Charleston The charges against Jones stem from the fatal shooting of Anthony Souvanlasy of Charleston. SCPD said in December that Souvanlasy was shot in the head around 5 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, on First Avenue. A bicycle was found at the crime scene, police said. On Friday, December 8, police released surveillance camera photos of two people wanted in connection with the shooting. South Charleston murder suspect extradited from Tennessee Authorities say that as part of the investigation, they obtained an arrest warrant for Jones on December 9, 2023 for first-degree murder. Jones was arrested by the US Marshal Service on December 14, 2023. According to Greene County Sheriff Wesley Holt, Jones was subsequently taken to the Greene County Detention Center. Chilling new video captured the final moments of a smiling Washington medical assistantโs life before she was allegedly murdered by a former pro basketball player and his prostitute girlfriend.

North Myrtle Beach Police charged Bornold Eberhart, of Decatur, with murder in the homicide of Kirstin Laymon. She was reported missing in 2023 in Duluth.
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. โ A man is accused of murdering a missing Georgia woman in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. And now, police believe her remains may have been found at a location in DeKalb County. In general, North Myrtle Beach is part of the Grand Strand along the South Carolina coast. The tourist destination is filled with shops, restaurants, beaches and oceanfront resorts. Many people come to kick back, unwind, and enjoy the family-friendly beaches and, of course, the fresh seafood along the Atlantic Ocean. The oceanfront city is about 380 miles from Duluth, Georgia. It's where local police were contacted regarding Kristin Laymon's disappearance, who was told that she hadn't been heard from since Sept. 22, 2023. Then, on Nov. 8, the Duluth Police Department contacted North Myrtle Beach Police regarding Laymon's disappearance. It was believed Laymon was staying at a local resort in the beachfront city. NMBPD detectives were able to confirm Laymon did travel to their city, and she was also with a man named Bornold Eberhart . As detectives continued to investigate their whereabouts, they confirmed that Laymon and Eberhart got into some type of argument in the early morning hours of September 23, 2023. Detectives said they were able to confirm that Laymon was last seen entering an elevator at 2:12 a.m. at the resort. That would be the last time Laymon was seen alive. The police department said in a news release that they have reason to believe she was murdered that same morning of the interaction but did not elaborate on how they believe she was killed. |
(Black) Man charged with attempted murder of Ramsey County deputy
A day after police announced his arrest, a man accused of shooting at a Ramsey County deputy is now criminally charged.
20-year-old Trevion Figgs is facing one count each of attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and drive-by shooting. Prosecutors say the case against a teenager who was also arrested is still under review. The charges stem from an attempted traffic stop on March 1. According to St. Paul police, officers saw a vehicle driving recklessly and tried to stop it but it fled. A deputy saw the vehicle a short time later and tried to stop it, but during that attempt, a passenger in the vehicle fired at least one gunshot at the deputy. Fortunately, the deputy wasnโt seriously hurt, and police announced on Wednesday that the suspects had been arrested. Figgs is accused of firing the shots while a 17-year-old drove the suspect vehicle. Charging documents filed Thursday state that an anonymous tipster told investigators that Figgsโ mother admitted her son was the person who shot at the deputy. When officers searched Figgsโ home on Wednesday and arrested him, they also found an AR-style rifle stock, a handgun and loose ammunition, court documents reveal. They add that the teenโs aunt told police that the teen had been staying with her for a few days and admitted to her that he stole a car from his stepfather and was involved in a shooting. Figgs and the teen, however, both denied being out or related to the shooting or declined to discuss each other. Yet Figgs allegedly told police that he could be their highest-paid criminal information and โsolve six crimesโ if they cut him a deal. The documents also state that heโs already charged with attempted murder from a shooting last June in which he allegedly fired 27 shots at a group of people, and he also has a prior conviction for having a ghost gun. |
